AI search reporting: show visibility, execution and business evidence in layers.

A useful AI search report has four layers: observed answers, verified work, website behavior and business outcomes. It shows the exact samples behind visibility metrics, the URLs actually changed, identifiable AI referrals and qualified revenue evidence without presenting correlation as guaranteed causation.

The question this page answers

Build an executive AI search report

1

Lead with the decision

An executive needs to know what changed, why it matters and what should happen next. Summarize the strongest repeated gain or loss, then link to the answer evidence. Place sample size, provider coverage and comparison dates beside the metric instead of hiding them in a methodology appendix.

2

Separate completed work from output

Count a page only after the canonical URL returns successfully and the approved content is visible. List improved existing pages, new researched pages and authority drafts separately. A generated draft, queued task or sent outreach request is not a published result.

  • Observed answer
  • Verified URL
  • Referral visit
  • Qualified business outcome
3

Make uncertainty visible

AI answers vary, referral data undercounts influence and business outcomes have many causes. Use comparable windows, report ranges when samples are small and label inferred relationships. This makes the report more useful because teams can distinguish a promising signal from a durable result.

Use a cadence that contains enough comparable evidence, commonly monthly, with operational monitoring continuing more frequently.

Should drafts count as output?

No. Report drafts as work in progress and publications only after live verification.
